A Feminist Approach towards Ethics of Care and Philosophy of Education Care ethics, which still continues to develop, appears to be an important approach in contemporary moral philosophy. Such approach takes its roots from the feminist movements occurred in the second half of the twentieth century. Similar to the progress of the feminist movements, care ethics movement has considerably extended its influence over different fields in the past years, including the field of philosophy of education. With its contributions both to the general discussions in ethics and to some important discussions in philosophy of education, care ethics movement has developed a unique theory of ethics and an approach to education. In this study, some central argument of care ethics are analyzed and also an important approach that continues to develop in philosophy of education is discussed.
