In this article, psychological services provided for women with psychological problems, who applied to get help from mental health center, is criticized from a feminist therapy perspective. This criticism is built on the analysis of Ayşe ’s story who was admitted to the psychiatry clinic and women counseling center, with intense psychological problems due to a history of multiple violence and. In this article, Ayşe’s case was presented, after a brief introduction of the psychological effects of violence, and then diagnosis and treatment method used in Ayşe’s case which was grounded in the mainstream psychotherapy theories. Later, a critical evaluation of the biomedical diagnosis and treatment method and mainstream applications of psychotherapy is carried out from a feminist therapy perspective. In addition, the feminist therapy-based intervention method is proposed for women’s psychological problems.
